New Year, New Intention

As we embark on a new year ahead, many of us can find ourselves in a reflective state of mind.

Contemplating the year that’s been, the things that played out as we hoped for and perhaps too those that may not have, we start to ponder what we want in going forward, for the year to come.

Traditionally many of us have been focused on setting new years resolutions, but for some that has shifted over time.

Often, as we cultivate more self awareness, we may find that resolution setting can paradoxically cultivate ego resistance, which may block us from obtaining, becoming, reaching or achieving the very things we wish to call in to our lives.

Instead, when we shift the focus to setting our intentions for each of the life domains, we can gain a sense of clarity and purpose to where we are heading.

This can set us up to take positive action as we move forwards into the year ahead, whilst simultaneously surrendering to the natural unfolding of where our lives are taking us.

It may be helpful to write out or simply reflect on the following domains of life, pondering such questions as what we wish to call in, who we wish to spend more time with, how we wish to bring about the things we desire and so on.

  1. Career/ business/ vocation

  2. Friendships/ colleagues/ aquaintances

  3. Family

  4. Hobbies

  5. Intimate relationship

  6. Financial status

  7. Fitness/ exercise/ nutrition

  8. Health/ mindset & above all

  9. Connection to self

Through exploring each one of these aspects, perhaps removing those that don’t resonate or adding in others that do, we set in motion a powerful energy of what we wish to manifest, to be brought into our physical reality in the year ahead and beyond.
