Body Wisdom

What is Your Body Trying To Tell You?

Throughout my personal healing journey and my professional life as a doctor, I was repeatedly faced with the limitations of modern medicine. There were no answers to be found for my symptoms from within the medical model as it stood, and so this prompted my search for alternative options.

However what I found was that similarly, despite what modality I tried, I could not seem to find the solutions. At the same time, I was seeing patients going through the exact same situation. Faced with these limitations, I knew that there must be something more than the endless search outside of myself to find that one healer, that one modality, that would somehow be the solution I had been searching for, to fix it all.

What I discovered rather, was that the journey of true healing, was one of connection to self.

That the symptoms that show up in our body or mind are there for a reason, serving as flags to show us where we need to look within. Our bodies carry a wisdom that is connected to the inner intuitive compass we each carry. And it is through cultivating this connection to our inner self, that we can be guided to use any modality available to us as a tool, chosen depending on what our body tells us we need. This is where lies the art. As we learn to tune into our inner wisdom, we can uncover the exact modality, food, behaviour or change we need to make to take the stepping stones on the path to health.

The conscious mind is only a small part of the human psyche. The subconscious beliefs we carry make up a much greater part of what dictates our behaviours, often, in the case of ill-health, keeping us stuck.

When we tune into our body’s wisdom, it can help us to access these subconscious layers. And through shining the light of awareness upon them, we are able to make the subconscious conscious, to create true, lasting change.

Ultimately there is no one fixed approach to healing.

One person’s path is not another’s, and our healing journeys are all unique.

Our answers always lie within.

With the space and stillness to uncover what these are, we can create our own healing path.

Excerpts from my upcoming 2nd book

“All along I new I was running.

For over a decade I spent my time in constant flight.

Putting out the flames of the dramas in my life.

Thinking if only I could be free of all these outside world challenges.

Subconsciously there was something deeper at play.

The outside world was simply a creation by my inner subconscious landscape, trying to keep me safe from facing the things I was running from.”

“I knew it was the right thing to have done, every intuitive hit had taken me down this path. Finally it was time to face the truth I had been withholding from my conscious mind.

I had to be honest with myself.

That I had created the drama.

I had not been able to face the void.”

“We are all valuable and significant just for being alive.

Our existence and essence as life itself is the miracle.

There is no accomplishment, worldly material possession, status, role or outcome that will ever come close to filling that connection to the inner most state of our being.

Yet when we can discover our soul as the miracle itself, we realise that the things we may have been chasing were illusory anyway.”

“It can be a journey to cultivate a life that reflects who you are within, however this is just the process.

The process actually allows the removal of everything that doesn't resonate and is not you, to allow the emergence of your true light to shine through.

When we let go fears of facing the unknown and surrender our control (or illusion of it), we can embark on the uncovering of that which is truly who we are.

When we can connect with this spark, this essence and find ways of shining it through into the external world, this is where we find the magic and joy of life.”
